The HBM2001 social and guest programmes were a great success and included a Civic Reception on Sunday 10 June when the mayor and people of Brighton invited delegates to join them for a glass of wine in the Brighton Centre. This was followed by short welcome address, a response from the organizers, a seaside buffet and musical entertainment.
On Tuesday 12 June, the Bootleg Beatles played at the Corn Exchange between 8 and 12pm. They were supported by You Jump First.
On Wednesday 13 June there was an HBM footballing competition where the winners were placed with a trophy generously donated by DHL.
The partners programme included an organized visit to Brighton Old Town (The Lanes) and the Royal Pavillion, followed by lunch at Donatellos and a visit to Petworth House, West Sussex, one of the finest country houses in the UK.
